Description
In July 1781, Colonel Archibald Andrew Lochry
the County Lieutenant for Westmoreland County Pennsylvania,
was requested by General George Rogers Clark to organize a militia of
Pennsylvania Rangers and join him on a mission down the Ohio river to
attach the indians. Lochry raised around 100 men but most of them were
killed or captured in what was to become known as "Lochry's defeat".
This image shows three of these rangers on their way to Carnahan's Block
House to meet up with Lochry.
